Welcome to RidgeValley Volleyball Club
Upcoming Events: April 5: U12/13/14, Power League, TBD

On Saturday March 29th, the RidgeValley Volleyball Club's U16's team participated in the 5 12 Courts U16 volleyball tournament. The tournament was held at the Lake Tapp's Volleyball training facility in Puyallup, WA. Morning play began at 9 AM with RVVC competing in a 4 team pool made up of 3 other 16's teams from the Puget Sound area. RVVC completed their round of pool play undefeated and went into the afternoon tournament brackets as the #1 seed. RVVC remained undefeated through the 8 team championship bracket's quarter and semi-finals.  In the finals they met a tough NorthWest Jr's U16's team who also finished pool play undefeated.

RVVC dominated the first set of the match with outstanding serving by Courteney Carr and Hannah Curd. They combined for 18 of the teams 25 points in the first set.  Great defensive play by Libero Cameron Kendall and strong hitting by Brooke Covello and Tristan Zimmerman kept NWJR's from siding out and the ball in Carr's and Curd's hands. The final score in set one was RVVC 25 to NWJR's 8. The second set didn't go much better for NWJR's with the set second set closing out the match and a win for RVVC 25 to NWJR's 14.

The team is coached by Larry Carr and Emily Ridout.  Coach Carr said that the RidgeValley U16's have recently had some breakthroughs in practice and the girl's carried them over to the tournament. "The girls showed how much hard work can payoff. "  Carr said he believes his much improved team has a great chance to do very well at Regionals the first weekend in May. "I think this team is going to spoil more than one teams plans of doing well at Regionals." "The girls are excited about their improvement's and love being the underdog."
